'An introduction to the Spatial Web' was presented to the Open Geospatial Consortium with support of the Spatial Web Foundation on 30 October 2025.
The presentation covers:
1. How the Spatial Web creates a shared world model between AI agents, robots and people so that they have a common understanding of the universe.
2. The key enabling components of HSML (language), HSTP (protocol) and the Universal Domain Graph.
3. Example applications - e.g. robotics, warehouses, supply chains, autonomous vehicles, smart cities.
4. How NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory have used the Spatial Web for cross platform interoperable digital twins.
OGC is an international standards organization for geospatial data and services. This presentation was made to the OGC The Autonomy, Sensors, Things, Robots and Observations (ASTRO) Working Group.
